Writing Group
Welcome to your local feminist writing group. Every week, we huddle up on Zoom to check in about whatever is coming up for you in your writing practice. Then, we write, exchange feedback, or dig into the big questions you need answered right now to move forward.
Whether that means learning how to craft a strong pitch, brainstorming ideas for future essays, swapping drafts with your fellow writers, talking about craft issues, building a newsletter or podcast, working on your book proposal or query letter, or just cowriting quietly in community, we’re here for you.
This is a flexible, responsive, totally individualized container. Writing group members also have access to a dedicated chat that works much like a group text, where they can ask questions or share wins and struggles throughout the week.
Who this group is for: Writers who want a supportive, responsive, and inclusive community in which to build their writing career and practice, find their people, and get serious about their work. All genres, levels, and goals are welcome— every week, the group will be split into cohorts based on their interests. Amanda will visit and mentor all cohorts each week for personalized guidance on whatever the group needs.
We will respond to drafts of short writing and pitches live in the Zoom when needed— no homework, no lengthy workshop submissions, just weekly community, connection, and coworking.
Additional written feedback from Amanda, outside what is offered in the Zoom, can be arranged on up to 5 pages of writing. Feedback on further pages will be offered at a discounted hourly rate (see the “extra feedback hour” option, or email me after signing up for the group if you have a longer submission you’d like me to edit or advise on).
